Recommendations of The 2nd International Conference
"Quality and Excellence for Export"
24-25 October, 2007

1- Standards:

1- Focusing on implementing the standards issued in all sectors.
2- Developing national standards ensuring the implementation of quality and excellence norms on all services especially health, education, transportation, tourism and banking.
3- Following up the modern techniques related to issuing new Egyptian standards in a way that guarantees technology transfer in all fields especially the modern systems.
4- Resuming standard issuance in all the new fields including medical appliances, communication systems, accurate electronic and mechanical systems as well as other new techniques.
5- Caring about safety requirements in modern commodities and products, notably those related to radiation or other hazards sources that may affect consumers directly or indirectly.
6- Activating trade among Arab countries through issuing Arabic standards harmonized with the international standards making use of the Egyptian standards that have been harmonized with international standards to save time, efforts and costs.

2- Quality
 
1- Setting up effective mechanisms to encourage the companies to obtain international conformity certificates of Quality, Environmental and Safety Management Systems.
2- Periodical auditing for the basics and procedures of the national quality awards to ensure the participation of the largest number of the companies competing for obtaining such award.
3- Allocating awards , by EOS, for the companies against which no dissent record has been made indicating non-conformity with the relevant standard during the period to be specified by EOS.
4- Establishing a system classifying the companies and factories according to the quality levels applied by them. This classification will be taken into consideration when they deal with other bodies in Egypt.
5- Establishing incentive royalty and others for the companies obtaining the Egyptian Quality Mark.
6- Developing quality and excellence strategy by the productive and services organizations with performance indicators according to which such strategy will be evaluated annually.
7- Consumers' participation, through questionnaires, in evaluating the quality of services provided by the organizations and their affiliated bodies. This evaluation will be carried out according to an annual arrangement prepared by the Cabinet Information Centre and announced for at the government website to encourage these organizations for the continuous improvement to achieve quality and excellence.
8- Speeding up forming the Higher Council for Quality.
9- Updating Standardization Law" Standards and Quality"

3- At the International Level

1- Sustaining the distinguished international and regional stature of Egypt in the international and regional organizations as well as resuming enhancing its relationship with national, regional or international organizations.
2- Exchanging experts with the corresponding international organizations especially in the modern fields and the technology that is not available in Egypt.
3- Being in continuous contact, making use of the international information web, with the national organizations especially in the developed countries in Europe and America to acquire the expertise of quality and excellence in all fields and activities.

4-Dissimination of Quality Culture

1- Setting up specific requirements that emphasize the importance of quality and excellence logo, in addition to assisting the organizations and enterprises to achieve quality and excellence elements through the cadres, enterprises, products, services and others.
2- The continuation of holding such international conference every two years and maintaining the government moral upholding, as the case in this year,

To ensure implementing and following up of these recommendations, each recommendation will be assigned to a certain body to responsible for its implementation according to its competency. Also a permanent minimized committee will be formed to follow up the implementation by such bodies.
