H. E. Eng. Rachid M. Rachid , Minister of Trade and Industry , has witnessed the Signature of a Memorandum of Understanding  between EOS and the Brazilian Technical Standards Association (ABNT) for cooperation in the fields of standardization, based on the international reference, conformity assessment, technical information and training contributing to the enhancement of mutual relations between the two countries.

In this respect, from the Egyptian party, Dr.Eng.Mahmoud Eisa , EOS President , and from the Brazilian party, Eng. Ricardo Rodrigues Fragoso , ABNT General Director , have signed this MoU , in addition to the attendance of the Brazilian Ambassador in Cairo and ABNT President.

The Minister has indicated that this MoU comes in the framework of the Egyptian government directives for enlarging its relations with different regional entities and essential countries worldwide with the purpose of opening new areas for cooperation with these countries in trade, investment and technology transfer as well as getting benefit from the experience of such countries in the promotion of standards and quality systems.

From his part, Dr.Eng.Mahmoud Eisa, EOS President, has clarified that this MoU includes mutual cooperation in the fields of standardization, conformity assessment and exchange of information relating to compilation, storage, retrieval, application and dissemination of scientific and technical data and information on standardization and conformity assessment along with mutual cooperation within international and regional organizations relating to standardization . Also, the Brazilian Ambassador in Cairo has confirmed that the Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry plays an essential role in the development of good commercial relations between Egypt and Brazil, referring to that establishing cooperation relations in the field of standards complements the existing collaborative between the two countries in various fields.
