he Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry has received a request from its Kenyan counterpart indicating the desire and interest of Kenyan party in exporting meat and its products to Egypt.
In addition, the Kenyan party has conveyed his willingness to receive
a delegation from the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture in Kenya to acquaint with the Kenyan epidemic status. In this respect, Mr. Saed Abdallah, Head of Central Department for Commercial Agreements, has declared that representatives of the Kenyan Ministries of Trade and Industry and Customs along with KEBS and Federation of Manufacturers have paid a visit recently to Egypt to discuss means of collaboration and elimination of commercial barriers between the two countries along with to set up a framework of cooperation between the Kenyan bodies and institutes and their Egyptian counterparts.
The Kenyan side has expressed as well his desire to participate in the international exhibitions and fairs organized by Egypt as the General Organization for International Exhibition and Fair has presented a draft Memorandum of Understanding between the two sides in the field of exhibitions to the Kenyan side for consideration.
The two parties have agreed upon cooperation and coordination between KEBS and EOS so as to remove all barriers relating to standards of mutual products btween the two countries.
Also, it has been decided that a delegate from KEBS will meet EOS officials during the forthcoming few days so as to tackle the mutual cooperation means and coordinate work as well as to activate the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two organizations.
