Dr. Eng. Mahmoud Eisa, EOS President, confirmed that EOS has finalized the harmonization process of 5400 Egyptian standards with international standards in addition to making all the Egyptian standards available on the internet.
Also Dr. Eisa pointed to the main features of the new strategy to be implemented by EOS including the expansion of EOS publication of standards and reviewing the Egyptian standards with the latest editions of international standards, in addition to issuing standards in new fields such as tourism, transportation communications and other fields. Moreover, EOS is in the process of resuming the issuance of new standards to cover all local and imported products and commodities with the purpose of achieving the mutual recognition with the European Union. Also, EOS strategy is focusing on resuming the qualification of EOS laboratories in order to grant CE-Marks as well as enhancing the Egyptian companies to obtain quality certificates and marks.
Dr. Eisa clarified as well the importance of resuming conformity systems audits in factories and developing the random factories to be inserted into the official sector, in addition to applying that experience to 100 factories.
