The Egyptian Organization for Standardization and Quality (EOS) and the Turkish Standards Institution (TSE) have signed MoU with the purpose of harmonizing the Egyptian standards with the Turkish standards as long as they are in harmonization with the international standards. This MoU requires the unification of certification, testing and metrology systems, in addition to support each other in the international corresponding organizations for enhancing trade among the two countries

Dr. Mahmoud Eisa, EOS President, stated that H. E. Eng. Rachid Mohamed Rachid, Minister of Trade and Industry, assures that the standards and quality systems must be in compliance with the TBT Agreement.

Moreover, Dr. Eisa declares that this MoU includes training and exchanging of expertise and added as well that the cooperation will start with one of the multinational companies through its branch in Turkey in the field of testing toys with the purpose of discovering any harmful substances and heavy metals.
