During the last few years many developing and developed countries achieved an economic outburst thanks to implementing the Public Private Partnership that aiming at creating new entities comprising the powerful nature of the public or governmental sector as well as the flexibility of the private sector without breaching any governmental laws.
In this concern, Eng. Osman Mohamed Osman, SGS Chairman, said that EOS has signed a Cooperation Agreement with SGS Egypt approved by SGS International concerned with the activities of inspection, auditing, testing and granting international certificates for quality systems. According to this agreement EOS will cooperate with SGS to operate and manage EOS Testing and Analysis Laboratories for Textiles and Ready-made Garments, in addition to SGS commitment to improve and update EOS current laboratories including the apparatus and equipment used in these laboratories as well as increasing the staff competency and providing training for them. Also SGS will be responsible for accrediting these laboratories internationally through the conformity certificates holding the slogans of both parties which are accepted in the international markets.
Dr. En. Mahmoud Eisa, President of EOS, assures that this experiment will achieve many benefits and profits for producers and exporters in this field as the certificates of testing and analysis that will be issued for the first time will fulfill the requirements of the international markets, in addition they will save 60% of the time elapsed in sending the samples of textiles and ready-made garments to be tested in foreign laboratories. Also, this agreement will reduce not less than 40% of the costs of foreign laboratories which will lead to promoting the competitive capacity for exporters.
Dr. Eisa also confirms that applying the agreement on Testing Laboratories for Textiles and Ready-made Garments is the first step and it will be followed by the remaining EOS laboratories according to time schedule with the purpose of carrying out the improvements and updating procedures that fulfill the international requirements in a way that serves the producers and exporters in the relevant sectors such as chemical industries including construction materials and paints, food products as well as engineering commodities. Consequently, these products will be qualified to obtain the International and European Safety Marks.
