Egyptian delegation headed by Dr. Fayza Abo-El-Naga, The Minister of International Cooperation, made a tour in some Asian countries including Mongolia, Vietnam, Indonesia and Singapore during the period 28-03 to  05-04-2007 to participate in  the meetings of the Corporate Ministerial Committees between Egypt and such countries.
The Memorandum of Understanding between EOS and Indonesian National Standardization Agency (BSN), signed during the visit of the delegation to Indonesia, stipulates enhancing the economic cooperation between the two countries through the elimination of the technical barriers to trade in the field of standardization and establishing cooperation programmes as well.
The signature parties agreed on exchanging information in respect of their mutual interests to facilitate trade of their products as well as newspapers, catalogues, national standards and publications, in addition to experts exchange.
The Memorandum also includes different activities such as preparing mutual training programmes and participating in the conferences, seminars, workshops and exhibitions held by any of the parties. Also, it includes the implementation of conformity assessment activities related to Mutual Recognition Agreement.
In respect of the international organizations activities, the two parties agreed on working according to the guidelines of WTO, ISO, IEC, and CODEX with the purpose of increasing their roles in international standardization activities. Moreover, a working group to be established comprising representatives of the two parties to prepare programmes for implementing the approved activities aiming at activating the Memorandum of Understanding.
